Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling & Visits

No. For virtual visits, I can only see patients that are physically located in: NJ, NY, FL. I hold medical licenses only in those states.

Yes, you are requested to complete all of the New Patient Paperwork at least 3 business days before your visit. Completing the paperwork on time allows you to get the most out of your first appointment. It also gives me enough time to review your information in order to create a personalized and comprehensive treatment plan.

We require a 5 business-days notice for new patients and 3 business-days notice for established patients to reschedule or cancel their appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.

No. Although I provide comprehensive care and often address most aspects of your health that a primary care doctor would, I cannot be your primary care physician. My practice is not set up to handle acute and urgent patient care needs. Because of this, I encourage all of my patients to have a primary care doctor.

Yes, when and if necessary. I will determine the best plan of care based on each person’s unique medical profile, and that may include prescribing medications.

Traditional medicine generally looks at the body as a collection of separate systems, each with its own set of diseases. In conventional medicine, doctors look for pattern recognition within symptom presentation to properly name the disease. After naming the disease, they will offer treatment (usually medications) to address the symptoms. Traditional medicine has specialists with each one working in their own silo making it challenging to see possible connections between various body systems and disease processes.

Integrative & Functional medicine views the body as one interconnected system. It also takes into account each person’s unique circumstances, including lifestyle, diet, environment, and genetics. Its foundational pillars include optimizing the person’s nutrition, movement, and emotional well-being. The person’s symptoms and clinical presentation are clues to help the clinician to determine the WHY not just the WHAT of the person’s imbalance. It uses both conventional testing methods and some that are not yet recognized by the traditional medical system to give the patient the answer as to the WHY. The treatment plan focuses first on optimizing the foundational pillars and addressing the other imbalances through the use of supplements, herbs, medications (as needed) and other modalities (i.e. acupuncture and nutritional IVs).

No, I work mainly with patients who are 18 years old and over. I can make exceptions for teenagers but I would have to review the case and medical history before booking an appointment.

Billing and Insurance

No, I am considered an out-of-network provider.

Schedule a discovery call for more information about pricing for your specific needs.

I accept all major credit and debit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) except for American Express. Please note that payment for services rendered is expected at the time of service except for the initial visit – we collect a deposit at the time of scheduling. Also note, there is a 3% credit card fee with the option to use Zelle payment instead for no extra fees.

Yes, I will provide you with a detailed invoice at the end of your visit after payment collection that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I do not process medical claims with insurance on your behalf and am unable to help with resolving claims for the services I provide.

No, I do not take Medicare and cannot treat Medicare patients at this time. However, this will likely change in the next year so please check back in if you are a Medicare patient.

The visit fees do not cover any lab testing. Most laboratory tests that I order will be directly invoiced to your insurance company by the laboratory, i.e. Labcorp. The amount of coverage that the lab provides is determined by your individual insurance plan. It is your responsibility to know such details and be aware of any additional out-of-pocket cost that may be associated with lab testing. Many of the specialty and functional labs are not covered by insurance. If this is the case, you will be informed prior to me ordering the test and will be billed directly by the lab or through my practice.

The tests ordered will be tailored to your individual needs after your initial assessment with me. This may involve a blood draw or saliva/urine/stool analysis. We do our best to inform you of any extra laboratory fees that may arise and allow you to decide which lab tests you would like. You are not required to buy any specialty testing in order to proceed with my treatment plan.

Communication

The office email is strictly used for general inquiries not concerning patient care.  Any communication concerning new and established patient care or treatment will be through my patient portal. This is to ensure confidentiality.
